Connectivity products are usually specified for the network behaving. The difficulty in the field is what happens when it does not.
When the link drops
Readings are buffered to onboard flash and forwarded in order once connectivity returns. Each carries the timestamp at which it was captured, not the moment it was finally transmitted, so data arriving late still reports its true age.
When there is no mains supply
Battery-operated variants duty-cycle the entire device between readings, reaching sleep currents that make multi-year service intervals achievable at remote sites.
When something fails
Status reporting is designed to stay truthful under failure. An unreachable device is reported as unreachable — the interface does not continue displaying a stale value as though it were current.
Read-only by design
Our cloud gateways implement the four Modbus read function codes and nothing further. They issue no writes to the field bus, and accept no instruction from the cloud capable of altering a connected device.
For monitoring attached to a live process this is a structural property rather than a configuration setting, and it removes an entire category of risk from the discussion with a security or operations team.
Deliberate omissions
No embedded web server. Configuration is performed through a desktop application over USB-C. There is no network interface on the device to expose, patch or defend.
LAN-only products contain no cloud capability. For sites where connected hardware is prohibited, this is a property of the product rather than a setting an auditor must take on trust.

Modbus Cloud Gateway
Connects your meters, inverters, VFDs and PLCs over RS-485 and Ethernet, and securely publishes their data to your cloud dashboard. The workhorse of the range.

Wakes on a schedule, reads your meter, sends the reading, and goes back to sleep. The programmable successor to fixed-function flowmeter loggers.
When the requirement does not fit a product
Custom development is available now. Delivered work includes cellular telemetry for water flowmeters, battery-powered level recorders operating for years without mains supply, and environmental and medical instruments built to customer specification.
Each project is assembled from component libraries that already carry their own regression suites, so new development is confined to what is genuinely specific to your requirement.
